Hello everyone so today I’m going to share a story about how this website became what it is right now. The website was a interesting task because I wanted to show case the different elements that one can bring onto a table and show clients what can be done online now a days. The thing with today’s market isn’t about going all out and make the most outrageous website around town. Now a days people want simple and fast websites that can be used on mobile devices as to desktop computers. Back then a developer would have to make two type of websites one for mobile and one for the normal desktop view.

Now a days with the wonders of today’s developers and codes used to develop cool amazing websites. One can just make one page that can respond with the size of the browser. It makes it totally easy to just make one design which can change it’s size. The help of a good CMS (client management system) helps a lot as well. I have always enjoyed the WordPress platform. I think it’s the easier to use and with it’s backing of public plug-ins it makes it into a powerful platform to use.

Of course you have to be active and research to see what plug-ins are worth while. Because sadly to say in today’s market everyone is trying to nickle and dime for everything. So when you’re installing anything to your own website know and research what you’re installing. The worth thing that could happen is you install a plug-in that doesn’t work correctly on your website and it will end up breaking your website which is a bummer. Always remember to do a back up once a in a while just in case.

Even when you update wordpress or update a theme you’re using remember to do a backup before hand. It’s always better to be safe then sorry.

My favorite part of the website has to be the slider show effect on the home page. I have always enjoy the effect of video integrated into a website. For some reason it always makes it stand out when it’s done right. The widescreen making it to fix the user screen is also a nice touch to do. I think some users might not like this effect however most people do because it’s an eye candy effect. Sadly a lot of it doesn’t work on mobile devices. I believe perhaps a *.gif image might replace a video in the future for mobile devices but I wonder how the loading time will be.

Amazon has some great books about programming or designing in general that can help users understand some of the stuff I’m covering.

Lets talk a little about hosting, some people hate them and some people think they’re great but I’m going to say this because I been working with these guys for over 8 years maybe 10 years I totally lost count. I been working along side with Bluehost. I never had a issue with them “knock on wood”, they been alright with me I never got a person on the phone who was a jerk. They have always been very friendly with me and I would tell everyone to check them out because they’re WordPress ready and like I said before I never had a issue with them and hopefully it stays that way.

There are other options out there for sure but I do enjoy working with bluehost. Their website options are pretty cheap, they offer the same stuff other web hosting do as well but I’m just so used to their interface and setting up a website with them it’s just 2nd nature for me. They have options like sitelock and other tools that help you protect your website. Like I said I never had a problem with them, and if I ever do believe me I will report it here and let everyone know.

My goal is to just be upfront with people and never push something that would suck and ruin or won’t work. I know the headaches of trying to trouble shoot something or make something broken to work so I can relate trust me.
